‘Guru Sishyan’ is going great guns even before its release. For the Telugu and Hindi remake rights of the film directed by Shakthi Chidambaram have been sold out for decent prices, we learn from reliable sources.

“Some of Shakthi Chidambaram’s earlier ventures, including ‘Charlie Chaplin’, were remade in other languages. And now, a popular producer, who came to know about the storyline of ‘Guru Sishyan’ has acquired its remake rights,” sources say.

Saying the film is an out and out comedy caper with all necessary commercial ingredients, sources add: “The performance by Sundar C and Sathyaraj would bring the roofs down. Adding more vigour to them is Santhanam.”

On the forthcoming films by Shakthi Chidambaram, they say, “he will soon start ‘Gummankuthu’ with Sundar in the lead role. Besides, plans are on the pipeline to make a film with Arjun playing the protagonist.”
